East Cleveland Villages Scarecrow Festival

The Scarecrow festival is a catalyst for bringing people and communities together, whether through being involved in the planning, the creation or just for pure pleasure.

Brotton Scarecrow Festival 2020

These have been a challenging few months and despite this the Scarecrow Festival carries on. This year is Brotton's first foray into the East Cleveland Villages Scarecrow Festival and East Cleveland Arts are leading the charge.

The Brotton Scarecrow Festival takes part on the weekend of 22nd & 23rd of August. We had originally planned a scarecrow walk around Brotton with a Scarecrow Picnic on the 23rd on Marshall Drive playing field, but everything changed!

So this year we are holding video tutorials for everyone to join in with, they'll be fun and entertaining and most of all in your own home!

What are we doing?

We have developed a dedicated website for the Scarecrow Festival which launches on 1st July 2020.

The Brotton Scarecrows website has been tailored this year to present video tutorials on how to make your own Scarecrow, we have also designed colouring packs for you to download and colour in.

In partnership with the Brotton Improvement Group we'll deliver a spectacular Scarecrow Fesitval, even in these challenging times.

What we want you to do

It is quite simple really, watch the video tutorials, make your own scarecrow, take a photo of it and share it with us, either here or on the Brotton Scarecrows website.

Download one of the colouring packs, colour them in, take some photos and send them to us, and when the festival ends East Cleveland Arts will put them all together in a video for you to download and share.
